I don't care about hitting maximum USB 3.0 speeds, just being able to run more cameras on my rig. USB PCIE Card Type C PCI- 4X to USB 3. Apart from my graphics card, HDMI capture, and that quad USB expansion card, I only have pcie 2.0 x1 slots left and am looking for a 2 port, 2 controller USB 3.0 card. Good compatibility: Compatible slot: PCIe x4 (3.0), PCIe x8, PCIe x16, compatible with Windows 8/10 / Linux core, no driver required. I found an expansion card that offers 4 ports and 4 controllers on PCIE 2.0 x8, but I only have 3 PCIE 3.0 x16 slots on my motherboard(MSI Gaming 5). This is due to a fundamental design flaw with the Microsoft Lifecam Studio USB 2.0 The cameras claim all available bandwidth on the controller, not the port, so if a controller has 4 ports, I can only run 1 camera on any one of the 4 ports and nothing else. I am looking for a PCIE 2.0 x1(physical - no modifications) USB 3.0 card that has 1 dedicated USB controller per port.
